At Trident we are currently engaged in a range of exciting film projects spanning narrative features, shorts and feature documentary films. Here are some details on current works we have in development:
Freedom War
The feature documentary Freedom War (2024) has now completed principal photography and is in post-production. This powerful film chronicles the first two years of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine and the subsequent return, liberation and reconstruction that has taken place in formerly Russian-held territories. The story is told primarily from the perspective of civilian volunteers.
Upcoming Feature Films
"The Good Samaritan" (working title) is our upcoming thriller/drama set in London. This film follows the story of a war refugee and her enigmatic host. The story is currently in late stages of development and casting is starting now.
"Werewolf" (working title) is our next gothic horror film and also unfolds on the frosty and dark streets of London and the hills and woods of rural England. In the film a suspected werewolf stalks a group of travelling friends. In the early stages of pre production but casting is already open.
The Mavka
Our award-winning short film The Mavka (2023) has made waves on the festival circuit since its completion in late 2022 and is now serving as a proof of concept for a potential feature film. The screenplay for this feature is currently in development and promises to expand on the gothic ghost story that has pleased festival audiences around Europe.
Something of a Stranger
The Ukrainian feature documentary Something of a Stranger (2024) that we helped to shoot is now being well-received at festivals, including Berlinale and Cannes, and has started a wider theatrical release.
Upcoming Feature Documentaries
We have two as yet untitled feature documentaries that are in pre-production in collaboration with Kalyna Film in Ukraine. They are also focusing on the Russian invasion and will explore the profound impact on civilians and vital infrastructure.
